Heidi M. Anderson, Ph.D.

Heidi M. Anderson, Ph.D.Heidi Milia Anderson, Ph.D., is Associate Provost for the Faculty Affairs at the University of Kentucky. She received her B.S. degree in Pharmacy, M.S. in Education and Ph.D. in Pharmacy Administration all from Purdue University. Prior to her promotion, Dr. Anderson was Professor and Assistant Dean for Education Innovation in the College of Pharmacy, University of Kentucky. Before that, she was the Head of Department Pharmacy Care Systems in the School of Pharmacy at Auburn University. As Chair of the Curriculum Committee at Auburn, Dr. Anderson helped develop a new ability-based curriculum for the entry-level Pharm.D. Degree. Her pharmacy practice experience includes work in independent and chain community practices.

Dr. Anderson's research draws on the social, behavioral, and administrative sciences to address problems in pharmacy practice and education. Her research emphasis on innovative teaching methods has uniquely qualified her to serve as primary host of Module 4, Problem-Based Learning, and co-author of Module 4A, Distance Learning. She has published or presented over 100 papers and has served as principal investigator, co-principal investigator or project director on numerous research grants and contracts. She has also served as educational consultant and/or provided presentations and workshops to the following:
